Is Pilates Even Suitable During Pregnancy and Recovery?
Yes! Pilates is one of the safest and most beneficial forms of exercise for expecting and new mothers. It’s low-impact, easily modified, and specifically targets the areas your body needs most support core strength, posture, and pelvic floor health.
What Are the Benefits for Me?
During pregnancy: Reduced back pain, better posture as your body changes, stronger core for labour, improved sleep, and stress relief.
After birth: Rebuild core strength safely, fix “mummy tummy” (diastasis recti), improve posture for carrying/feeding baby, increase energy levels, and connect with other new mothers.
I’ve Never Exercised Before Is This Still for Me?
Perfect! Most of our prenatal clients are beginners. We start gently and build confidence at your pace. Being pregnant or having a baby doesn’t disqualify you it just means we take extra care with your program.
When Is It Safe to Start or Return?
During pregnancy: Any trimester with doctor’s clearance. We modify everything for your stage.
After birth: Usually 6-8 weeks postpartum with medical clearance. We assess your recovery and start slowly.

Before we begin any exercise program, we take time to truly understand you.
Every new client receives a comprehensive health consultation where we’ll discuss your pregnancy stage, any concerns, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll review your medical clearance and create a personalised approach that evolves with your changing body.
For expecting mothers, we’ll talk about your current fitness level, any pregnancy symptoms you’re experiencing, and how pilates can support you through each trimester. No question is too small we want you to feel completely confident and supported.
For new mothers, we focus on where you are in your recovery journey. We’ll discuss your birth experience, any challenges you’re facing (like back pain or core weakness), and how we can help you feel strong and confident again at your own pace.
